Welcome to Purley John Fisher Rugby
Established in 1997 with the merger of Purley RFC and John Fisher Old Boys RFC, Purley John Fisher Rugby prides itself in being one of the most successful and sociable rugby clubs in Surrey. The club is based in Old Coulsdon with good transport links from London, Croydon and Purley via road, train and bus routes
Teams
The club presently has two senior teams, Vets, Minis and Juniors, all of which compete within their own respective leagues and competitions. Our 1st XV plays in the English Clubs Championship – Surrey 2 league, with all club floodlit skills and team training taken by our coaching team.
The club is predominately comprised from players from the local area, combined and supported by the club’s youth development efforts in conjunction with The John Fisher School in Purley and Coulsdon College.
Training
Training sessions are every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm and are formed of fitness, conditioning and skills training taken by our Club coach Rhodri .
Both forwards and backs train together on the with game run throughs to finish the session
Our club physiotherapist is always available on Saturdays and training night to ensure our players receive the best treatment, and can recover from injuries and re-join the teams as quickly as possible.
The club is open during training for player physio treatment.
Playing Facilities
We have two full size rugby pitches, training floodlights, and a fully licensed clubhouse with a function room, Presidents lounge and two bars. Our changing rooms will allow for four teams to change comfortably in their own separate changing room, and a changing room specifically dedicated for match officials.
Competitions
As well as playing friendly games against teams from the local area during the season, the club also participates in a number of different competitions throughout the season at all team levels. The current competitions that the club participates in are;

Spectating and Exposure
Purley John Fisher RFC also offers a large social alternative for those who have ended their playing days and those who wish to spend their Saturdays as a spectator and enjoy a good game of Rugby. Players and spectators can also watch all domestic and International rugby matches at the club .
The clubs 1st XV enjoys a large exposure within all the local news papers and can expect a match report and photograph in the sport pages of the Croydon Advertiser, Surrey Mirror and Croydon Post following a league Saturday.
