Another great weekend for PJF

Niel Kenny10 Mar - 18:07

Seniors and Minis all perform well

After the disappointment of the previous week when PJF came up just short against league leaders O Cats PJF took on Chipstead in another locla derby. Always a fractious affair this didin't disappoint. PJF established their superiority in the pack which put Chipstead on the backfoot throughout the game. In the end PJF ran out winners by 25-12 and claimed a try bonus pint to firmly lock in their position as 4th in the league. In two weeks time PJF take on O Whitgiftians in their third consecutive local derby. PJFs final home game of the season coming on April 5th with a fixture against O Wimbledonians. This fixture will be preceded by a lunch.

On the Sunday the minis attended the Festival at Wimbledon. PJF took two sides at U7 and one each at U8s, 10s and 11s. All sides performed creditably with the U7s and 8s holding their own. The U10s and 11s age groups excelled, terrifying opponents with their relentless harryng play. Both sides tackled ferociously and out rucking the opposition at the break down resulting in a large number of turnovers. In spite of taking on much bigger clubs the two sides attacted positive comments from oppositon coaches who admired the level of play the lads achieved. Both sides conceded under eight tries whilst each side scored over 25 tries in their four games. Next Sunday the U12s travel to Camberly to play in the finals of the Waterfall Cup.
