PJF lose one of the family after sudden passing

Many of you will already know of the sad loss of our dear friend, but for those who did not know him quite as well, it is with great sadness that we must report that Mark died suddenly in the early morning of Sunday, 13th of March.

Mark was a great supporter of rugby at the school and at the PJF. More particularly he was an extremely proud supporter of his son Charlie, who he loved to watch play.
Mark supported Charlie and his year group (many of whom now make up the backbone of our current 1st XV) throughout their school years and he saw them develop into a successful and talented team. John Fisher School obviously never had the resources of the independent schools, against whom they competed, and Mark generously provided much needed sponsorship for the team and the school through his successful company, M Crowe Scaffolding.

Charlie came back to us at the start of this season after completing his studies at Cardiff Met University. He made an instant impact on the pitch and Mark made an instant impact on the touchline. If Charlie was the ‘find of the season’ on the pitch, then Mark was the ‘find of the season’ off the pitch. He was a funny, generous, and good-natured man who supported the club with good humour and enthusiasm and a growing knowledge of the game. He also brought a fantastic atmosphere into the clubhouse and in particular to the pre match lunches which he helped to make a great success this season.

It is perhaps fitting that he spent his last day supporting Charlie and the team in our final league game of the season and stayed on to watch the in England v Ireland game with them. He was on great form and was the life and soul of the party as usual.
He will be sorely missed by everybody in the John Fisher family and our thoughts are with Charlie, Harvey, D’arcy, and their mum Katy at this time. We send them our prayers and deepest condolences. As a club we will endeavour to give them every support in the difficult days ahead
